Junior Athletics (G4-G7)

Our school proudly offers an Athletics Program designed for students in Grades 4 to 7. This comprehensive initiative not only instills a passion for sports and fitness, but also lays a solid foundation for their future involvement in high-school Athletics which start in Grade 8. Our Junior Athletics Program goes beyond mere physical activity; it plays a crucial role in the holistic development of our students beyond the Physical Education classes. By engaging in a variety of sports and activities, they not only cultivate physical fitness but also learn essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. This foundation not only prepares them for the rigors of high-school Athletics but also contributes to their overall health and well-being, setting them on a path towards a future of success, both on and off the field. We take pride in witnessing our students grow not just as athletes but as individuals, equipped with the skills and values that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Basketball: The Athletics journey begins with Basketball, focusing on skill development for Grades 4 to 5 in the spring. As students progress to Grades 6 and 7, they have the exciting opportunity to join competitive teams during the winter season, fostering teamwork, discipline, and a love for the game.

Tripleball (Volleyball): In the spring, Grades 4 and 5 delve into the world of Tripleball, a.k.a. Volleyball, honing fundamental skills. As they advance to Grades 6 and 7 in the fall, the focus shifts to team dynamics, strategic play, and the joy of competition, building a strong foundation for future Volleyball enthusiasts.

Cross Country: Fall sees the introduction of Cross Country for Grades 4 to 7, promoting endurance, resilience, and a sense of personal achievement. This inclusive sport encourages students to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle while developing a camaraderie that extends beyond the finish line.

Track and Field: Spring brings the excitement of Track and Field, where students in Grades 4 to 7 discover and hone their individual Athletic talents. From sprints to jumps, this multifaceted program fosters a sense of self-discovery, instilling valuable lessons in perseverance and goal-setting.

Additional Sports: Depending on participation numbers, students in Grades 6 and 7 have the opportunity to engage in Ball Hockey (separate divisions for boys and girls) and coed Soccer. These sports not only add variety to the Athletic experience but also cater to diverse interests, ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable program for all.
